HAZ904: HAZWOPER Level III – Hazardous Materials Technician Refresher (8-Hours)
OSHA requires HAZWOPER emergency-responder training when employees conduct “emergency response operations for releases of, or substantial threats of releases of, hazardous substances without regard to the location of the hazard.” There are five levels of HAZWOPER emergency responder training required under §29 CFR 1910.120(q)(6); these levels correspond to the employee’s level of involvement at the incident.
The third level, called “Hazardous Materials Technician,” applies to employees who are likely to discover a hazardous materials release and participate in both defensive and offensive clean-up activities that include stopping the release at its source and conducting all related operations. This is Anfeald’s annual refresher course for hazardous materials technicians.
